狡猾的狐狸最困难的部分将是跟踪有多少张牌被打到了储备库。 一旦玩家开始把牌放在储备库里，牌就不能从库里移走，直到有20张牌被放在那里。 这就挑战了玩家在保持牌的平衡的同时，还要监控八个不同的基础库，以寻找可能的玩法。 真是一个挑战!

狡猾的狐狸需要使用两副标准的52张法式牌。 在发牌之前，先分出四张A和四张K。 确保每种花色都有一张A和一张K。 这些将被用来开始八个不同的基础牌堆。
将剩下的牌洗净，发了二十张牌面朝上，组成四行五张。 这二十张牌开始做备用牌堆。 沿着左边，将四张A放在一列。 将四张K放在布局右边的一列。 剩下的牌组成抽牌堆。

玩家要根据花色将A的基础建立到国王，国王的基础则根据花色建立到A的基础。
看看发到布局上的二十张牌，如果其中有任何一张可以打到基础牌堆里，就立即打。 用抽牌堆里的牌填满储备布局的任何空格。
当不能再从布局中出牌时，开始从抽牌堆中翻牌。 任何可以出的牌都应该放在基础堆中。 抽牌堆中任何不能出的牌都应该放在布局中的储备堆中。 不能出的牌可以放在玩家选择的任何储备堆中。
