Will Weatherford is a small business owner, husband and father who resides in Wesley Chapel, Florida. The Speaker studied at Jacksonville University where he earned a degree in business. It is also the place where he found his passion for public service. In college, he was elected Student Government Association Vice President and received the Outstanding Leadership award. In 2006, Will ran for the House of Representatives to represent Pasco County. He won his first race and returned to Tallahassee, this time representing his hometown as an elected official. Not a typical freshman, Will was able to use his knowledge of policy and the process to immediately tackle important issues. He has a record of championing education reform, promoting transparency and accountability in government, expanding school choice for Florida’s parents and children, and leading a redistricting process that put the process above politics and was upheld by a unanimous vote of the Florida Supreme Court. The Speaker’s peers unanimously elected him Speaker of the House of Florida in 2012. Over the years, Will has been recognized as a “Champion of Business;” a “Defender of Parents’ Rights” by the Florida Catholic Conference; “Legislator of the Year” by Able Trust for Disabled; and a “Top 12 State Legislators to Watch” by Governing Magazine.

Welcome to the Convention, Mr. Speaker (currently, the youngest House Speaker in the nation)!

March Meeting: Imagine Liberty, March Madness & Municipals

Imagine Liberty!

Young Republicans March Madness
Unemployed Underemployed and Broward Politics
Featuring 2012 State Rep Candidate
and Governmental Studies Adjunct Professor
Doug Harrison

Wednesday March 6th, 7pm
Maguires Hill 16 Pub & Restaurant
535 N. Andrews Ave, Ft Lauderdale

Imagine liberty…

The liberty to make choices that don’t infringe on others liberties… the freedom to spread whatever religion you want to spread so long as it’s doesn’t infringe on your freedom to believe… the freedom to love whoever you want to love so long as it doesn’t infringe on your freedom to love…

Liberty isn’t a radical movement, it’s not an extreme movement… it’s one of the greatest movements of all… a revolution… a revolution our party ought to turn to… the greatest revolution in our history…

The American Revolution!

Come out to the Young Republicans next Tuesday March 6th at 7pm to Maguire’s Hill 16 in Ft. Lauderdale and listen to rational thought and have yours heard as well… If you’re unemployed or underemployed or know someone looking for a job, show up 15 minutes prior and have your resume evaluated in addition to meeting with potential employers

Check the event out on Facebook!

It’s also March Madness!

All month long, Broward YRs are having our annual membership drive. Come out to our meeting to learn all of the great reasons that you should join or renew your membership to our club. Spoiler Alert: This year is going to be even bigger, even better than ever and you won’t want to miss out!
